There are different types of water well pumps that you
can choose from when purchasing a new pump. Even without access to municipal
water, you can still get fresh water. You just have to hook a well pump up to
your nearby well to supply your home.
Submersible
pumps
These are among the most popular pumps. They look like
metal cylinders that are submerged in the water. They use a motor to pump water
from the well up through the pump. Submersible pumps can operate at a wide
range of debts. If you live in a dry area where water wells can reach hundreds of
feet in depth then a submersible pump will work for you. This will not increase
the energy costs because submersible pumps use gravity in the pumping process.
Centrifugal
pumps
These pumps are simple. They use the motor’s kinetic
energy to transport water from one place to another. Unlike submersible water
well pumps on rent, centrifugal pumps do not have driven seals. This
eliminates the risk of costly repairs.
Hand
pump
This pump utilises a hand-cranked lever that draws
water from the well and moves it into a tank to be sent to the pumping system
of your home. These types of pumps aren’t as common as submersible and
centrifugal pumps but they come in handy when you want pumps for off-grid
operation. Hand pumps are the cheapest of all the types on this list but using
them can be tiring.
Jet
pumps
Jet water well pumps exist in two main
types – those for shallow wells and those for deep wells. Shallow well jet
pumps are similar to submersible pumps in the way they work but they only work
for wells at a 25 feet debt or less. They are more powerful and this means they
can function in walls as deep as one hundred feet.
