How to create and store an emergency supply of water

One of the duties and responsibilities of a water solutions company down under is to provide suitable facilities for water storage. During a water-related outbreak or emergency, clean drinking water may be scarce. It is important to prepare yourself for such emergencies by creating water storage and storing water that will meet your needs.

Bottled water

The safest and most reliable source of water during an emergency is sealed commercially bottled water. If you don’t have bottled water, you can use portable filters and make your water safe during an emergency. There are some cheap water filtration systems and other affordable ways of treating water to make it safe for consumption.

How much water should you store for emergency purposes?

You should store at least one gallon of water per head per day for three days for sanitation and drinking. You should try and store a water supply that will serve you for two weeks if possible. There are various water solutions equipment for keeping water safe.

You should try and store more water than what we have suggested above for pregnant women, hot climates and sick people. Make sure you check the expiration date if you bought the water. Replace your non-store-bought water after every six months.

Select the right storage container

When it comes to storing safe water, it is best to select food-grade storage containers. Make sure the containers don’t transfer toxins into the water. FDA-approved food-grade containers can be found at camping stores.

You should contact the water solutions company down under if you are unsure if the storage container is safe for storage. If you are unable to find a food-grade container, you should ensure that the container you choose has a top that closes tightly. You should also ensure that the container is made of durable and unbreakable materials.
